In the first half of the 19th century, the founder Emanuele Bacigalupo cultivated the land in Piandeipreti and his son Ambrogio continued the business until 1885 when, upon his death, he left the land to his eight children.
His son Luigi initially lived in his father's house in Novelle with his wife Luigia and then also went to Argentina for work. Upon her return in 1905 she purchased the house and adjacent land from her brothers to continue working the land with her children Angela and Davide, while the other daughters contributed to the family income as workers at the Lavagna Cotton Mill or in the service of wealthy families.
In 1934 Luigi expanded the property; in 1947, upon his death, his children Angela, Davide and Vittoria purchased other land in Bovereto and Rappalupo, and, in 1972, the remaining share of their grandfather Ambrogio's property from cousins who emigrated to Argentina.
In 2000, upon the death of Luigi's last daughter, the property passed to his niece Elza and in 2018 to her daughter Franca. Since 2019 the size of the farm has increased significantly to its current size.
